Make-up FAQs

Why is it important to hire a professional make-up artist for my wedding or special occasion?

A professional artist will create a stress-free environment for you and your bridal party. You want everything to be perfect on your wedding day and so does your artist. The last thing you need to worry about is making sure your make-up looks perfect and will be long-lasting. Hire a professional bridal make-up artist that will come to you, then you can sit back and relax knowing you’re in safe hands and will look and feel amazing on your big day. With experience and skill, a make-up artist is able to create a look that is tailored to your complexion, individual style, location, expected weather, lighting, even the theme of your wedding. You will have a timeless look that enhances your natural beauty. You will save time and energy and it's fun.

I offer professional make-up services for your special occasions at the salon. If you’re attending a social event, an important interview or having a photo shoot, I’ll create a look that’s long-lasting and perfect for you.

I’m not sure what make-up look I'd like on my special day. Can you help?

Yes, absolutely. You may want to start by looking through magazines, on Pinterest or other social media outlets to find make-up photos that you like, or you can describe your vision to me. At your bridal trial, I will create a look based on what you like and what you are hoping to achieve, a look that will fit you, from natural to smoky glam, vintage to modern. It can be daunting trying to find a look that you want and that suits you best, but I’ll make the process fun and stress-free

Do you offer bridal party trials and what does that involve?

I do, and would highly recommend a trial for the bride. Trials can be very useful for other members of the bridal party who may not wear much make-up or who would like to ensure I’ll create a look that’s right for them. During the trial, we will discuss the make-up style you'd like and make any adjustments to ensure it suits you perfectly. Having a trial also allows you to wear the make-up for the day and see how it feels and lasts in preparation for your wedding day. Come the day of your wedding, you can be confident you’ll have the look you’ve dreamed of created in a relaxed environment.

What do you charge and do you charge extra for small bridal parties or bride only?

My prices are set and I don’t charge more for smaller bridal parties or for bride only make-up. I don’t charge extra for Sundays or bank holidays, except Christmas Day. All pricing information can be found here.

How long will the make-up last? And what brands do you use?

Your make-up will last all day and evening without needing any touch ups with the exception of lips due to eating and drinking etc. As a professional make-up artist, I am able to apply and set your make-up to ensure it looks as good at your evening reception as at your ceremony. I use excellent quality make-up that I have many years’ experience working with. The main brands I use in my kit are MAC, Clinique,Chanel, Dior and YSL. I use MAC primers and fixing spray to ensure your make-up lasts well into the night. I also use Ardell strip lashes and weekend lashes should you choose them.

How long does make-up application take?

Make-up application for the bride takes around 90 minutes and around one hour for other members of the bridal party. It may take slightly less time, but I like to make sure there’s no rush.

Can I hire you for touch-ups through the day?

I can return to your venue between your afternoon and evening reception for touch-ups. These will be charged at 50%.

How far in advance should I book a make-up artist?

I would recommend you book your make-up artist as soon as as you start planning your wedding. Booking early will ease some of the stress as artists can be difficult to find at short notice.

Do you come to me for my wedding and what are your travel charges?

I travel to you on your wedding day; this is more convenient for you, and we will be in the comfort of your own home or wedding venue.

Travel is charged at £0.50 per mile after the first 15miles.
* With the current volatile fuel costs, this may have to be increased after a confirmed booking, but this will be minimal.

Parking charges at venues are payable by the client.

What is the process to secure you for my wedding date?

I charge a £10.00 non-refundable booking fee for your trial with the balance due at the trial appointment. If you decide to book me for your wedding day, I will require a 50% non-refundable booking fee to hold the date, and the remaining amount will be due on your wedding day.

Where can I read reviews from your previous clients?

II have reviews on my Facebook page as well as this website.
